Each mantel is formed using a mold created from reclaimed wood, this is painstakingly done by hand for the best results, then each piece is stained by hand adding details and highlighting the natural form found in the original wood piece.
It is best to refer to your fireplace manufacturer's owners manual for mounting requirements or to fire codes in your area. Best practice is no non-combustible mantel should be installed closer than 12-inches from the top of the fireplace opening. Again, please consult with your local fire codes for your specific requirements.
It's best to clean your mantel or shelf with just a slightly damp cloth. Harsh cleaners and vigorous rubbing can damage the stain. Avoid scrub sponges that may scratch the stained surface.
Installation is fairly straight forward, but the mantels and shelves are heavy and cumbersome in length, so it will require a minimum of two people for installation (and in the case of the 8" x 8" x 72", three people is best). It is recommended that you consider employing a contractor for installation for best results if you are installing onto brick or stone where material will need to be removed (commonly called chasing) and the mantel installed into stone/brick. You can install your mantel shelf in an area that is protected from the outdoor elements. It should be protected from rain and weather.

Concealed damage must be reported to our customer service within 48 hours of receipt. Keep the damaged item and all packaging materials in the original carton until the claim is finalized, at which time you will be notified on what to do with the damaged item.
